Lafarge in Ukraine

Lafarge (since 15.07.2015 is a part of LafargHolcim Group) is the world leader in building materials production with top-ranking positions in the manufacture of cement, aggregates and concrete. Since 2004 Lafarge in Ukraine is represented by aggregates business line. 

Lafarge development in Ukraine:

1999 - acquisition of OJSC Mykolaivcement in Mykolaiv, Lviv region. The start of Lafarge Cement Business in Ukraine;

2000 - acquisition of CJSC Stromgips in Artemivsk, Donetsk region. The start of Lafarge Gypsum Business in Ukraine;

2004 - acquisition of Klesiv Aggregates Quarry Technobud in Klesiv, Sarny district, Rivne region. The start of Lafarge Aggregates Business in Ukraine;

2008 - launch of a new plasterboard plant in Artemivsk, Donetsk region;

2010 - inauguration of Koschiivka Granite Quarry near Koschiivka village, Fastiv district, Kyiv region;

2011 - divestment of Lafarge Gypsum Business represented by OJSC Lafarge Gypsum Ukraine to the Etex Group, that is specialised in the manufacture of building materials and systems;

2013 - inauguration of Ispas Sand & Gravel Quarry near Ispas village, Vyzhnytsia district, Chernivtsi region;

2013 - divestment of Lafarge Cement Business represented by PJSC Mykolaivcement to CRH plc, the international building materials group.

Lafarge in Ukraine consists of separate enterprises engaged in the development of nonmetallic quarries,  in aggregates production of various fractions and in further product sale. The majority of ready-made product is shipped abroad. Aggregates are delivered to the customers mainly by rail transport. Currently, the Business Line includes 3 sites located in Rivne, Kyiv, and Chernivtsi regions.
